Finding Me thru Me

Photographs are often said to be the reflection of your inner self. It’s like revealing the “true me,” something I’m not comfortable showing sometimes or perhaps I’m revealing something I might be unaware of. When I saw Francesca Woodman’s audacious expression of herself to her self portraiture, it piqued my curiosity and an idea came to me: if a photograph is indeed the reflection of one’s inner self, why don’t I capture myself directly as a subject and not through a reflection. That is how I started this project. Facing the camera directly and finding me through me.
